| Lapinator -- a Must Item for Serious Laptop Users |
| Over the last six years I have bought/tested/rejected a multitude of laptop "solutions" that just didn't work. My leg pains increased, and my computer continued at warp speed destined for an expected meltdown. The many products and even more articles on the subject are testimony that my concerns were not unique. Finally, five months ago I found the solution in the Lapinator. I have no leg pain, my husband has no discomfort, and our computer notebooks can now function as true laptops. There is enough rise to allow for good air circulation, and enough cushion to provide essential leg comfort. The Lapinator is lightweight, durable, comfortable, and safe. It fits nicely into our computer briefcases, so they are always with us and used every day. And they still look brand new. | | I have been using this thing for about 6 months now. It's well made and practical to use around the house (at least better than the pillows and books I was using before). Still, it's basically a sheet of rigid plastic with padding underneath, so I can't see how it would fail to work.
A few issues:
1. The Lapinator is very light but still pretty bulky. It's a lot larger than my 12" iBook (which is not that small). I never took it with me when traveling because I never had that extra space in my carryon luggage. That's a bummer.
2. I had to add 3 extra smaller rubber feet to support the front of the notebook (to complement those in the back), because the iBook (like my other notebook, a Dell) gets hot mostly in the front. Also, due to the slight bending of the plastic board that the notebook rests on, it looks like there is actually less air circulation than when it is resting on a desk.

| I love it! I just received the Lapinator and am delighted. I generally buy low-end computers and soup them up with lots of RAM and a large, quality display. The result is a great machine for my needs. Unfortunately, these cheaper computers run HOT, as you know. Mine runs so hot that it has burned the paint off of the metal compartment covers on the bottom. So, I used a pillow. It protects my legs but impairs the cooling of the computer.
I researched high and low to find a good solution. Everything was "pillow-like", or too big (way to wide for comfy chairs), too bulky or heavy to take with you, or just too expensive. When I came across the Lapinator I was honestly a bit sceptical. But I figured that the price was so reasonable and it looked so practical that it was worth a try.
I can happily say that this is nothing more or less than a lap top cooling/protective device should be. It is comfortable, fits right into my computer bag with no trouble, is light as a feather, helps to cool my machine (the fan would normally be running right now), AND my lap is not burning.
I am a medical professional with knowledge of ergonomic positioning. The Lapinator with rubber bumpers applied has improved my upper body comfort already. My laptop stays firmly on my lap and does not gradually move towards my body, easing the use of the keyboard. The velcro strap is a great bonus. Laptop power connectors and plug cords either contribute to failure of the recepticle, or damage the cord. I have been glueing velcro straps on the back of my computer to keep the power cord in allignment and take some of the stress off of the plug. Now I can just hook right up to the the Lapinator. Dynamite. Great product, reasonable price. And your service was fast.
| | As a college student, my laptop is practically glued to me 24/7. I was originally skeptical of this product, as it seemed too light and simple to really make a difference. However, I was definitely proven wrong.
This laptop desk makes working on the couch or my bed much more enjoyable. I can now work for much longer periods of time without taking a break to cool off my lap. Furthermore, it lifts my laptop up just enough to make it a more comfortable match with my wrist level. I would tend to disagree with the reviewer who stated that since it was black it absorbed heat and fried his computer. I have left my laptop on it overnight several times, and everything has been perfectly fine in the morning. The velcro strap is also a nice feature as it secures my power cord so it does not put strain on the port.
| | I'd give it 10 stars if I could! I was hesitant to believe that the Lapinator was all it was cracked up to be, but I figured it was better than the towel I using to keep my legs from burning! I purchased one for myself and one for a co-worker who had done some work on my computers. I tried it and I love it. It even fits inside my carrycase with the laptop and it is very lightweight! I asked my co-worker after about a week what he thought and he said he thought it was great. I just wish that more of my friends and family had laptops because this would make an awesome birthday, Christmas or any holiday gift. The customer service I got was a wonderful experience and shipping was super fast. Definitely a good investment. This product and it's creator deserve an award for such a innovative and affordable invention! Kudos and best wishes to him and his new product!
